Friends of Children (FoC) is a non - profit trust, working in Maharashtra, providing financial assistance to needy college going youth to complete their higher education.  It was founded in 2003 by a group of people with a dream to lend a helping hand to society. The underlying objective was to reach out to deserving youth using education as a medium, helping them grow as strong individuals with an opportunity for a sustainable livelihood.

From 26 students in 2003 we maintain steady numbers of around 250 students each year, across the greater Maharashtra region. Our activities have also widened to include a number of complementary areas in addition to financial support, such as provision of textbooks, trainer camps & skill sessions, mentor & guide networks etc. We continue to grow and evolve.  We also run three libraries in Pune and Manchar and Sangli.

FoC works in the regions of Pune, Narayangaon, Ale Phata, Junnar, Manchar, Rajgurunagar, Saswad, Someshwarnagar, Ghodegaon and Sangli.  Most of the villages surrounding these areas are covered by the sponsorship program.

The organization is run by volunteers who have been the backbone of FoC ever since 2003.
