FoC Nurture Merit Financial assistance Project Update - Dec 09 2007
Dear Friends of Children, volunteers & donors
FoC has extended support to 150 poor students from Narayangaon and Nagar districts on 9th December 2007. Fees of Rs 4,01,740 was distributed.
Friends of children would like to thank our Donors, Volunteers, Friends for all the support extended to make this a successful event.
Specially we thank the following volunteers.
1. Home visits for the 300+ students – Narayangaon teachers Rokade sir, Kanade sir, Upar sir
2. Career guidance – Ankit and Isha from Fuel group
3. Volunteer support for softskill session, disbursing fees, collecting documents – Infosys volunteers and FoC students.
4. Logistical support for arranging transportation , projector – Infosys volunteers.
5. All the paperwork like preparing checks, documentation – FoC volunteers
We look forward to have your continued support to help FoC for supporting these students in the years to come.
Following is the plan for the rest of the academic year
In March we would be providing the last installment of fees to Pune FoC Students (Approx Exp : 1Lakh)
In April/May we are planning to conduct a CET course for the 80 Students who are in Class 12 (Approx Exp : 80,000)
In May we are planning to conduct a 8 day residential students camp in Junnar for the Class 11 students. (We are working on the budget)
Updates for the current academic year
As of Dec 10 2007, we have extended our support to 450 students from Pune, Narayangaon, Sangli district & Nagar for the academic year 2007-08.
103 students from Narayangaon area were provided educational support on 28th July. The total amount disbursed is 3,20,600
57 students from Pune were provided educational support (First term fees) on 11th Aug. The total amount disbursed is 2,61,815
135 students from Sangli were provided educational support on 6th Oct . The total amount disbursed is 4,20,500
150 students from Nagar/Ale/Junnar were provided educational support on 9th Dec. The total amount disbursed is 4,01,740
We have also spent about 50,000 for purchasing reference books for FoC Library and 30,000 for purchasing notebooks
The total educational expenses till date is more than 15 Lakhs

4. Bina Sundar & Family from UAE - 1.2 Lakhs (For Library Books)

6. Aparna Khatri - 20,000
7. Nandita Anjaria - 20,000
8. Sanjay Kirloskar - 15,000
9. Hemant Ramnani - 45,000
10 Sripad - 12,000
We have also received Rs 1,70,000 as Cash from many of our volunteers for the medical treatment of 2 small kids during Diwali. It is amazing that we received this amount in just one day. Now both the kids are doing fine after their treatment.
